Welcome to the Jenkintown Golf League

The Jenkintown Golf League is a 9 hole, two-man scramble men’s golf league.  Beginning in June of every year, twenty-two, two-man teams compete during a 12-week season for the Commissioners Cup. 2025 marks the 13th year of the Jenkintown Golf League.

The 2024 Championship team is made up of two-time Champion Jon Fedders (‘18 & ‘24) and Craig Ecker (‘24).

GOLF LEAGUE PLAYOFF UPDATE:

  • The standings and bracket are posted on our website.

  • Our First Round is this Monday August 25, 2025 with a 5:15PM start.

    Action Required:

Please communicate with your partner and upcoming foursome and confirm that you can play on Monday.

  • With the shorter playoff format, our goal is to play the playoff tournament on Monday's and the final match on a Sunday (TBD).  Exceptions can be made for travel or vacation, but NOT for convenience. Playoffs rounds are included in your fee. If you or your partner has a conflict for travel or vacation, please agree with your foursome on a new date and time. Please let the A-Club know of your new time. Once you have a new date let me know the date and the time.

    A Few Playoff Reminders:

    1.     Playoff rounds are to be played on Monday’s (8/25, 9/8 & 9/15). No official rounds on Labor Day.  The Championship Round will be played on a Sunday, date to be determined later.

    2.     If you cannot play on Monday. You must complete your round by the Sunday prior to the next Monday. Once your round is complete, let me (via WhatsApp) know the winner.

    3.     Please be mindful of the rules. Small infractions can make the difference. Please read the Rules on our website. Below are a few reminders as suggested by you in the past:

      1. You cannot watch putts (do not stand on the line of any putt – biggest complaint from you)

      2. No music during playoffs (ok during season, leave blue tooth speaker at home)

      3. No sharing clubs (max 14 clubs per bag)

      4. Please remain quiet while your opponent is putting or teeing off. I have received a few complaints about this over the last few weeks.  Please keep still and absolutely no talking or whispering while someone is putting or teeing off.

      5. No changing the condition (fairway, rough, fringe, sand, etc.) of your ball and no grooming the course (i.e: you cannot fluff up the sand trap, etc.).  You get one club length no closer to the pin on the course and one putter blade or 4 inches no closer to the pin on the putting green. ( second biggest complaint by you)

      6. You may NOT play the course on the same day as your playoff round.

      7. Do NOT use the 2nd hole green or any green for practice putting before your playoff round. Use the practice green.

      8. Pace of play. Certain players have stated that slow play impacts their performance. If you lose your ball, you get 3 minutes to search for a lost ball. (third most complaint by you)

      9. My recommendation is to finish out all putts, but if you pick up, please ask your opponent.  Do not putt out, if your opponent concedes that it is good.

      10. Please settle ALL disputes on the course.  If you have any doubt, ask your opponents for a ruling.

    4.     Handicaps will be used in the playoffs.  They are posted on the website. If strokes are given they are applied to the 9th hole and then the 4th.

    5.     Darkness: If it gets too dark, my suggestion is to stop playing and pick up and reschedule, however it is up to the foursome. I have had many discussions in the past with all of you about how you regret playing that final hole or two in the dark.

    6.     There are no ties, continue playing until a winner is confirmed. Strokes are given if your overtime hole reaches a stroke hole.

    7.     We encourage spectators. However, spectators do NOT hold any official capacity in determining the winner, placement of a ball, location of a ball, or the determination of a rule(s) dispute.  It is the player(s) sole responsibility for their own play.  All disputes should be handled by the foursome and ONLY by the foursome. In the case of a lost ball, a golfer may ask a spectator if they may have seen where the ball landed, but spectators are NOT to give advice or provide guidance (i.e: do not signal “safe or not safe” or “your good” or “in or out”) to the golfers during the round.

    8.     WITHOUT naming any names, please feel free to share on WhatsApp any issues or rule infractions (not already covered above) that you have witnessed so that we do not repeat it.

    9.     It’s been a fun season; however the playoffs are a bit more serious, so please be extra mindful of not impacting the competition unfairly.

Good Luck to everyone and let me know if you have any questions.

    Dan
